Abstract

As artificial intelligence systems increasingly integrate with human decision-making processes, the ethical and societal implications of human-AI symbiosis demand rigorous frameworks for evaluation. This paper presents a novel seven-dimensional deliberation framework grounded in the ancient Chinese philosophical text I Ching (易经, Book of Changes) and Oracle Bone Script symbolism. Unlike Western binary logic systems, our framework employs the Yin-Yang dialectic and hexagram symbolism to model complex socio-technical scenarios involving brain-computer interfaces, consciousness uploading, and algorithmic governance. We demonstrate the framework’s application through a comprehensive case study on human-AI symbiosis ethics, achieving a 3.98/10 risk assessment score across philosophical, technical, architectural, evolutionary, innovative, collaborative, and quantum dimensions. Our methodology integrates traditional Chinese wisdom with modern multi-agent systems, offering a culturally-grounded alternative to Western AI ethics frameworks. The framework supports scenario compression through 64-hexagram mapping, enabling stakeholders to navigate ethical dilemmas with transparency and cultural sensitivity.

    Appendix C: Derivation of Dimension Weights

    The seven dimension weights were derived through a Delphi process involving 23 experts from five cultural backgrounds. Experts were asked to rate the importance of each dimension for AI ethics assessment on a scale of 0-10. The weights were then calculated as the average rating divided by the total of all ratings.
